I had my rear axle break towards the passenger side back wheel and have had it welded up a couple times but it continues to break. Does anyone know of a place to find a rear axle for a 2000 Gem 4 seater? I would like to get a refurbished or used one as a new one I am sure is really expensive.
ouch… have you looked on eBay or Craigslist for the axle or someone parting out a car? you didn’t say where you are… I’d look in retirement areas… Fla… Az… Ca… try the golf cart warehouse in Costa Mesa Ca… they part cars out from time to time… I found today the dealers have a network… start with your dealer… maybe Nev Accessories in Az they deal in pre 2005 cars

There is one on Ebay right now. The 2 passenger, 4 passenger, and long bed axles are all different. You must confirm this with the seller before bidding.
if you’re in SoCal LSVcarts is a company to check out… they often part out GEM cars but their ratings seem to say… buyer beware… I bought the cargo box from them and am more than happy with them… service and price
If this breakage was not due to an accident then it could happen again, or to the other side. A competent welder should be able to fix it and possibly strengthen it to prevent it from happening again. I would inquire with one before I bought a new axle.

I have a complete rear end assembly for $200.00, plus shipping on ebay now. Off a 2000 GEM “wide” rear. If you just need the steel frame, I can separate.
