Wished I could say I am impressed, but unfortunately I am not. The range, speed, lack of bells and whistles isn’t much better than my modified golf cart.

After looking at the details it becomes obvious why it has such low performance, low voltage 12 volt shunt wound DC motor and lead acid batteries. Obvious reason for this is cutting corners to keep cost down.

To get to high performance and range you have to use Lithium Ion batteries in the 300 to 400 volt range, 3-phase induction constant torque motors, and Variable Frequency Drive controllers. All these items are expensive especially the lithium batteries.

A revolutionary jump in both performance and price needs to happen with batteries to make EV’s a reality in the mass market. Performance jump is around the corner within 5 years, but price?
