Magnet install question GEM E4 2009

So I got a new motor magnet. The one I removed was so boogered up …I can’t tell wh pics way to install.

One side the metal has a raised edge…I assume that side go out and the flush side will be in by the motor…is that right?

No, magnet is flush on top with the shaft.

Thanks… it just seemed the ridge allowed you to tap it on without breaking the magnet.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this? I’ve already bought 2 magnets…

It shouldn’t need too much force to press in. The further the magnet is to the sensor the more inaccurate the reading is. Also not sure if the magnetic poles are reversed when upside down…
