Leeds City Council has today released the first of a batch of 42 new electric vehicles which will replace an array of hybrids and electric cars currently in use by the council. It is estimated that fuel savings in excess of £24,000 per year will take some pressure off the council’s budget and also assist with emission targets.
We can only hope that more councils follow Leeds because public services are the most visually effective way of introducing electric cars.
