Should local authorities only use electric vehicles?

Over the last couple of years we have seen a number of local authorities around the world jumping aboard the green bandwagon and introducing an array of electric powered vehicles to their portfolios. There is an ongoing debate as to whether use of public money in this particular field is efficient and morally correct or whether indeed it is a means of influencing the wider public?

Are you happy for your local authority to champion the cause of electric vehicles for the long-term benefit of the environment?

In my opinion I don’t think most people think of the environment when they see the utility company vehicle is electric. I think they recognize that it is an advertisement for the product the compny sells.

An electric producer driving electric cars is a natural, don’t you think?

What say you?
