Gen car auxiliary battery dead

Relay is clicking properly. So am I just dealing with a bad inverter? Also gem car wants 599 for there. How can I install an after market unit for this?

I would test converter first. Often loose connection. Any dc-dc will work if rated as battery charger. 13.6v +

Gabe may stock them.

It definitely isn’t working. Voltage drops when key is turned on. Relay is good. I tightened up all the contacts going into it,still no change.

Is it 4 wire or 5 wire model. A similar plug and play unit is available, but is often backorder.

The current harness has 4 wire

Awesome thank you for this info

@Cformony - Thanks for the example, But it might be worth noting that the output (being quoted at 12v) may not be enough to actually charge a battery.

@gofast67 -
Did you check your existing unit to make sure it is truly dead?

True diagnostics should really go beyond feeling for a click.

Is it getting 48v on the input?
If yes, does it have 12v on the output?

That one is 12v. Won’t work.

A 5 wire will also work. I believe the 4 wire were recalled.

I can order these for about $250. May be one that Gabe stocks.
I’m not in the business of selling parts. Price includes my mark-up.
If cost is an issue, I can look for an on-line wholesaler for you.
You can also send me yours to test first.

ps.
13.7v may not be ideal, but should keep a sla battery charged.

I have pack voltage comin, and nothing going out. Only voltage on the 12 volt side,is the actual auxiliary battery reading after it has been charged back up. This battis new,and 1 month old.

I’m sure Amazon has others… that’s just the first one I came to … 25 dollars vs 600 dollars, it’s worth a look.

Absolutely, I will definitely look around
