TL;DR - Don’t take off your windshield wiper, it is required for tech inspection.
My GEM is new to me and not fully legal for the road yet so I am still learning the ropes. My neighborhood here in Ohio requires it to be inspected by my local police before I can get it registered and legal.
I had a heck of a time with the windshield wiper motor when I was doing my lift and basket install and just decided to take it off since I don’t plan on driving this in the rain.
Fast forward three months and the officer is doing his walk around and the second thing he asks is “windshield wiper?”
Crapsticks.
Now I need to drop another hundo on a new aftermarket one.
Lesson learned.
On the bright side, I can put in a newer wiper motor and longer arm, so there’s that. I’m also quite happy that months ago I notched out my basket so the wiper arm fits.
