What about Gem car battery fires, anyone? My son’s 2005 e4 just caught fire and burned his home to the ground. Let me know the history on the fires on Gem cars.
Gem cars had a problem with this in the early models because of a exposed dc converter also when you have high voltage such as the gem car the possibilitys are endless for failure any thing that can fall or be accedently dropped could possibly find its way to a hot wire and short out causing high heat and fire also I’ve never seen it happen but all the warning labels say the battery s can emmit highly flammable hydrogen gas that could ignite with a spark hope this helps you understand some of the many ways this could have happened
