GEM Accelerator Pedal Assembly Needed (also RV)

Electronic upgrade available for all of these cassette type throttles that use idle sensor.

Send yours for upgrading.
Not diy at this time.
Or buy this new part,

Dave, how much extra to add variable output electrified niplpe clamps that follow pedal position?

Asking for a friend.

I can build such a thing. How long leads? For passenger or driver? Add $250 for wye and both sets.
Also suitable for other naughty bits!

I cannot for the life of me get Sentry Monitor to read throttle percent. Help, what’s the secret? I’m working on the bench. Need to be in the car for some reason.
@AssyRequired
@Gem_e2
@LithiumGods

iirc it has to be in full operation mode for it to read. wont read with ebrake on. I can try and recreate on bench if you need me to

If you ever get the chance, yes. Although I’m not sure how well it monitors in a late classic.
If I knew the voltages that relate to “0%” throttle and “100%”. I would know exactly how to tune new ones.
I just have a feeling that 20yo cars are not getting 100% torque/speed.
I can build a battery powered test jig for clients to test throttle.

When Rodney was repairing them, he found most didn’t reach 100%

Exactly, the only oem pedal I had, reached 2.9v wot. I build mine using 3.2v.
Build them like this for @Old_Houseboater with no complaints.
But, i would like to know. T5 hall pedals which are not subject to wear are 4v, iirc.
I dont have a car to test your theory, but I can simulate most settings on the bench. Connecting a motor would be tough, but not impossible, if required.

This may be important. People are spending good money hotrodding and may not even run wot.

My latest product, Sidecar Tps, I can tune to 4v if required. The only limit is the controller 5v unregulated supply. Often well under 4 volts when loaded. (Connected to throttle)

I’m awaiting delivery of a R4F pedal. It has the capability of 100% output.

Dave I have an unopened core Do you still want i?

Even with forward selected it doesn’t read accelerator

Note that in your screen shot you have a -15 undervolt error.
My limited power supply does this too. It provides enough to boot/read/write, but mine at 30v, it is not enough to clear all the [Volt low] boot test routines. I might have one that will go higher.
You are only giving it 67v? Man, you are almost there.

I think LG was hinting that maybe all errors(he suggested handbrake) need to clear before it would start to log throttle %.

It shouldn’t really matter, but it actually makes sense. Is this what keeps the car from moving with a wrench code displayed?
(if wrench/error → #ignore throttle %)

Actually 31 volts only.

@Old_Houseboater do youhave time to review?

No need to open cassette or remove arm. I’m hoping that this fix will be universal to all vehicles using the Teleflex. Such as Matt’s rv.
The oem part is still functional. You can switch from oem to electronic tps to compare performance. I believe it was you that told me worn pot robs speed.
Still in beta testing, I would not sell it until it gets thoroughly tested.

Ok, I’ll get it sent out.

I need a pedal sensor for a 2009 Gem e4. Do you know when will this version be available and how much will it cost? Thanks.

Hey @erictci, welcome to the group.

First- What makes you think you need a new pedal?
Many times this is misdiagnosed. Let’s make sure you get what is needed.

After a small amount of testing the new design does seem to work.
My original replacement potbox has been well tested, and I will continue to offer it as my only option for Gem.
