Ford think battery reconnect

Hi There,

I have to replace batteries, what is procedure to reconnect the batteries without burning down my house.

Can someone tell what do I need to turn off and disconnect and in what order do I connect the cables again.

I understand positive negative setup but don’t know want to turn off or disconnect make sure when I close loop and connect main how to prevent it being live and sparking

Appreciate the help!

This post is a bit confusing. What is it you are trying to do?

It sounds like you are replacing the batteries in your Ford Think?
Where are you in the process?
Hopefully you took pics of the way it was wired before you disassembled the previous hookup?

I have pictures of the connection but it’s 72v I curious how to close the loop with sending sparks everywhere..

Man, If you are in the habit of sending sparks everywhere you have done something seriously wrong.

Feel free to change your alias/handle to sparky.

find the main power switch under the driver seat area next to the 3 fuses. as long as that is OFF then you won’t get even a tiny spark as the DC Converters power up.

Otherwise, the Motor controller is not even charging up either.
The Main Relay isolates the big amps from the controller.

If you are uncomfortable around electricity then you might invite an electrical friend over for a second pair of eyes. If anything, he can be the one to call 911.

lol.. I have not sent any sparks but just being extra cautious cause I am afraid to close loop on accident it’s 72v in the end..

Maybe the better question is does anyone have a battery diagram?

Also what do I do with that negative cable?

Follow your existing wiring and understand each cable before you unhook anything.

If you need, put some blue tape on a connection and mark where it goes with a sharpie.
