I ordered the easy steering kit from one of our senior members who builds them himself. It is not too hard to install it and there are only a couple of mods needed to your old GEM. But after its done my wife can now turn the wheel while standing still! Before it was like wrestling a bear for her and she didn’t like to drive it. The kit is $300 and you have to send him your old steering column which cost me $14. You do need to be handy and have enough tools to do the job. He will send you the installation instructions and you can see for yourself if it looks to intimidating for you. It is now a pleasure to drive the old GEM!
