Hi @Cformony, Thanks and here’s under the hood pics
Hi Garthhh, Thanks for the info. I did not find any 2-3/8" spacers (2-1/2" yes). Do you by chance have a link? You also wrote, “Here’s some 12” tires & rims 23" tall could rub slightly at the extremes of steering lock". Was there meant to be a link? Thanks again for you assistance. Now if I can just get the wondering steering issue resolved I’ll be good to go.
Spacers are only 2"
I used 1 1/4" x 1/8" aluminum flatbar drilled & cut into squares to make up the 3/8" on one side &1/4" on the other
I wasn’t super precise, drives fine, no vibration
I don’t have a place to grind a bit off the calipers & used less flatbar spacers
You probably need something like these
My ezgo has a similar set
The pressure set around 10 psi to avoid wearing out the center knobs too quick
Same for my GEM on the street
I fit snow chains on stock GEM tires & rims,
Didn’t find any chains small enough, I modified a larger set to fit
Thanks, that’s about what I bought. I found 2.5" x 4" x 4" spacers, too, which should work great if the 2-3/8" worked for you [I verified my 2011 GEM E2 as imperial]. Great to know about the 10psi, too, thank you! All that’s left is to sort the steering issue.
So I took a video and it seems I might have a bent right front wheel or at least way out of alignment. Is there a way to post videos to see the GEM driving up a hill?
IIRC you have to upload the video to somehing like youtube or other video host then you put the link in your post
