The 2 smaller wires that energize the coils was ok, but when i checked the 2 larger wires that feed the main current, the output wire had no power but i had power going into the relay so i went to Alaska maintenance office to retrieve another relay. The maintenance supervisor had ordered 2. Installed the new relay and connected the charger cable and the unit started charging, the 2 flashing no- charge led’s went away and so i checked the dash display and the CAN error code 520508 had gone away also. Not sure why this first relay failed. I do recall installing this first relay into unit before i changed the batteries so it’s possible that the weak batteries had something to do with this first relay failing so early.

Ok, That makes sense to me also.
Part of the repair process is discovering the point of failure, but also discovering the reason of why it failed.
That relay that you put in there- Does it have a rating for the contacts?
The 48v DQ can put out about 20A when it needs to.
Also, make sure the little battery is getting charged before you close it all up. It gets charged from the DC Converter when the key is on. (not from the DQ).
Yes, it does have a rating for the coil contacts. It’s 12volts dc. I have checked the small auxiliary battery and it was at 12.8 volts so it is good. I know the relay is sending out 48 volts at around 20 amps. I checked it with my meter. I released the vehicle yesterday after the charger completed charging 100%. The unit has not come back for this no-charge issue any longer and i haven’t been notified of any issues with the unit since returning it to Alaska maintenance.
