Aloha WillReadmore,
Did you find out anything about that error code? I have a 2016 EM1400 LSV and I am getting the
“F 1200 1” error code and I have not been able to find anything about it. Yours was the closest.
Thanks in advance,
Ron
Aloha iInvestinElectric,
I have a 2016 EM1400 LSV. I am having trouble finding information and specific parts for it. I am having an error code “F 1200 1” that I can’t figure out or find any information about. I don’t have a Service Manual yet. Do you know if there is a digital Service Manual?
Thanks for your time.
Ron
The service manual doesn’t have any error codes in it, that’s B.S. considering Polaris charges $110 for it.
How old are your batteries?
Mine are original and I see this error whenever I turn the truck on .
@Derrick that is somewhat true, it doesn’t have those codes. Maybe they are in the digital wrench book.
I was the one who recommended the manual to you, and I’ve found it useful for my 1400. But if you feel that you would rather have your $110 back, please send the manual to @AssyRequired and I’ll send you $110 + postage.
code F12001 Handbrake Fault ,Handbrake is active when direction selected.
Thank you @Gem_e2 .
I have a few more for you. I’ll post later.
@JarJarJava thanks for the offer, no worries though, it does have some good information in it and I don’t regret buying it. I’m just saying that you would expect a service manual (especially a pricey one) to have that kind of information. Probably just another way for Polaris to bleed more money from people.
Did @AssyRequired join the club and get an em1400?
Heh- No. I’m not sure if he thinks I should
or perhaps he had a vision and I had one in the future?
Not yet…
He is the most detailed troubleshooter here, so him having a copy isn’t a bad thing in my opinion. Only three, now four of us with the 1400s. I figure we could use the extra help
My 2016 won’t start (and won’t fault)if the parking brake is engaged
I haven’t tried engaging it when the car is rolling so maybe it would fault in that case
On my eM it just throws the 1200.1 code if you engage the brake and directional selection switch.
Coming from a '10, and an 02 before that, I’m not used to having “neutral” on the directional selector. Always park in forward or the backup alarm will never shut off.
On the eM, no beeping with the error code. If you’re in reverse, just kill the key switch and backup alarm goes silent. I never really thought about the 1200.1 error to put the obvious together.
Aloha Gem_e2,
Thanks for your reply. I have been having some issues with my handbrake when taking it off. I have to jiggle it around to get the parking brake light to turn off on the dash before I can move.
Where did you find this Error?
Thanks,
Ron
jrjava,
I am not sure how old my batteries are because I bought it used. They were holding a great charge when I first purchased it. Then I put some tierods on and now I can watch the battery percentage drop 1 percent every 300 meters. I tried to adjust the toe in per manual. I am not sure if they are related.
I did check the batteries and I have two that are about 6.1 volts fully charged and 5.9 volts at 90% when the 6 other batteries are about 6.3 to 6.4 volts fully charged and 6.1 to 6.2 at 90% charge. With a total of 49.5 volts when the batteries discharge below 90%.
I think that my battery bank may be on the verge of replacement. I am thinking about doing the lithium conversion. Has anyone done the lithium conversion on an EM1400 LSV? I am looking at the RoyPow 56Ah Lithium battery kit.
Thanks in advance.

Maui,
So I was totally wrong about that error code being weak battery related. It’s just a parking brake code. See @gem_e2 post.
As for the lithium pack, you’re in luck man. I’m building a 2p15s lithium pack for my eM1400 in the next few weeks. All brand new SDI cells from @inwo.
It’ll all get documented here when I do. I’m just running a bit behind right now.
I don’t know anything about the battery you mention. I just know that from seeing them in the past, I don’t think anyone except Dave and Michael offer a battery solution that is truly designed for a GEM. The eM is even more unique and specialized than the average post 2016 GEM. I can’t believe that shoving LFP trolling motor batteries in these is a good solution.
I just caught the 56Ah part. That is way way underpowered. That’s less than half of stock and a mere fifth of the distance AGM pack (240ah)
You’ll just be throwing your money away.
The pack I described that I’m building is going to be 60v and 188ah, weighing in at about 150lbs replacing a 750lb AGM distance pack.
Dave thinks I’m nuts using the 15th cell. He’s probably right…
Aloha jrjava,
Thanks for your quick replies. Because I am on Maui it is hard to get any lithium batteries shipped here and most won’t ship anything here. There is a Golf Cart place here that carries the RoyPow Lithium Batteries. They have a 56 Amp for $1900, a 105 Amp for $2400, and a 160 Amp for $3200. The charger is another $350. I only paid $4000 for the vehicle. I would like to have more power, but do you think it is worth the investment?
I only drive a mile or two at most on any given day (most days a kilometer) and I have a 100watt solar panel with a Renogy Rover Boost Controller to recoup the little bit of energy I use.
Your thoughts would be most helpful. Thanks for your time.
I don’t know anything about those batteries. I can say that 56ah is probably going to get you as far as a gallon of gas in a 727 will.
12v circuit power comes from the charger, so you can’t get rid of the Delta q that easily.
jrjava,
Wow! I didn’t know that. I am a newbie to this technology. I really appreciate your feedback. I don’t want to put out that kind of cash and not be able to pass walkers or make it to the corner store.
Thanks,
Ron
