Hi all,
Guess this is the place for BugE questions since the state says it’s a scooter.
Instead of the DC motor the design calls for, I’m setting mine up with a Mars BLDC motor. The Kelly site says the Mars can handle 72V (with current controls I assume it can). I have the the 72v by 180/300A controller. I’ve also ordered (I hope) a BLDC wheel motor which can take 72V.
So I have 2 pack options-
- four group 34 batteries at 48v and ~60Ah
- six group 51 batteries at 72V and ~40 Ah
Stored energy is about the same, price is a little higher.
The question, does anyone know what the trade offs will be; range being the big one?
Any help/opinions welcome…
Greg
PS, I don’t hold out a lot of hope for the wheel motor, but it sure would be slick if it does work.
