90 Volt Lithium battery-Think Help

Junk it all and go to AC?

Welcome to 90 volts. That’s what it does.

Thanks to all helping me. I’m still not sure what is going on or what the next step is. Start swapping I guess.

I see the usual serial data wires on 11 and 12 and a Neg on 4. Nothing unexpected.
Is it possible there is a ton of internal noise going on in there and plugging this adapter filters out the crap and allows the car to run?

Very odd…

Whatever it is, the cluster recognizes it right away. Turn master switch on, turn key to reverse and the contactor pulls in but movement is not enabled and no back up beeper. I plug that converter in and the back-up beeper starts chiming and bingo the car moves.

Keeping you guys baffled.

Again thanks for sticking with me

It’s a Ford. Not a Fiat.

/Shakes head walks away…

Has a lot of Fiat parts on it.

Any ideas why 3 and 4 voltages are so goofy? Probed through the back of the 23p plug. Key in drive position.

Oh, that’s bad.

KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE NOW!!!

Those are some wacky numbers. I don’t even know why this car runs.
Unplug the controller and place your probe in the connector directly. You might not be getting good pin contact.
See if you get the same readings.
Probe the back of the cluster.
Change the cluster.
Change the controller.

I looked at the D2 document again. I was going by what I thought Rodney told me.
T2 and D2 are similar.
Input thresholds are 2.5v and 7.2v .
They are active high fed from p15. The 12v supply from controller bus.

Everything I’ve suggested or thought up until now was probably wrong.
Start with 12v supply, p15. It is probably out of regulation and is pulled down to proper specs by loading the 5v supply through 12p data port. 5v dupply is derived from 12v bus.
An easy place to check 12v bus is at motor speed sensor.

Checking 5v supply may be easier to probe at throttle pot H.
All these can be seen in Sentry Monitor, saving all this frustration.

Hopeful your cable will show up quickly.

I’m wanting to put this thing to bed and I’m sure you guys are tired of me begging for help. All new to me I know just enough to be dangerous.

I can check voltages but I need the expertise you guys guide me with.

If no reg 12v on p15 bad controller.
Cable won’t help with bad 12v bus.

I will check first thing in the morning.

Crazy.
There is something about your data cable that is regulating your 12v bus?

Time to switch out your controller and send this one off to be repaired.

Grrrr…me again. Changed out the controller tonight. Now I am back to no contactor pulling in.

What the hell.

Mind you I don’t know the condition of this controller either

What conditions need to be met to pull the contractor in?
