2016 GEM E4 Odd Noises and occasional "slow mode"

Awesome I just ordered them

Anybody no what size bolt needed for the skateboard bushings?

I believe these are the bolts I bought for mine. I did need to shave the opening on the smaller cupped washers.

Great. Thank you very much.

Probably a bit late for further advice(you probably left the hardware store by now),
but for such an important bolt (and there are only 4 of them) I would get one with grade marking on it. SAE grade 5 minimum or 8 is better. Metric 8.8 or 10.9.

There is alot of off center weight hanging on those 4 bolts and these are stiff little cars when they hit a bump.

What is on the other end? With the squishy urethane bushings you canā€™t really tighten a nut/splitwasher good enough. Nyloc nuts on the other end would keep it from coming loose.

Is this trans bolt going through square tubing? How much of that bolt sticks out the bottom? If you feed the bolt up from the bottom and nut on top it keeps the extra length from sticking out the bottom of the frame just asking to catch on stuff.

You want to glide right over the bicycles and the random walkers with minimum fuss.
Stopping to untangle a section of chain link fence from under the car does not make for a clean getaway. This last part was just to see if anyone was still reading.

 Good idea. You have to get out clean.

It is square tubing and they are pre-threaded.

It Looks like the skate board bushings are NOT going to work for my Transmission Mounts. The holes in my mount points are enlarged so the Rubber Bushing sleeve that the bolts run threw has room. So the hole is almost as large as the skate board bushing (no go) o well. Iā€™ll keep running these untill Rodney gets around to finding a harder rubber. Or Iā€™ll just order another set of what failed and see if someone can use them as a template to machine me some harder ones.

Use some fender washers?

I had a question so installing these skate broad bushings will quite the noise from the gears while driving? I have a 2016 e4 with gears

Yes, it should reduce your cart operating noise significantly. I was not even expecting as good of results as I got.

I have a 2017 thatā€™s using a Stock Transmission ā€œno vibration mountsā€ lm gonna try the Skateboard Mounts on that car and report back

any feedback on the reduction of noise Grant?

Is it possible to take another sample audio with the new bushings?

I donā€™t think my DB/Sound meter is gonna be that scientific to detect that. Iā€™m sorry I have been slammed with a bunch of projects and have not replaced the bushings. I will be able to do them real soon
