Hows your 72 volt fuse in fuse box
Loose battery connections
Possible bad gas pedal
Blown main fuse under seat.
Batteries not fully charged

We’ll we checked it all out and think it’s the (gas )pedal Switch looks like It may be bad , do I have to buy complete assembly or can you by just switch? Thanks in advance

I saw on here a Saturn gas pedal assembly would work. Any one know which part number or description? Oem is 500$

I used ultra-power part number 699138 from rockauto. Just to make sure you know, this is not plug and play. You have to cut and attach the pedal assembly and add an external switch.

Thank you I’ll see if my mechanic is confident to do it. Thanks again

I looked the part up and have one coming , for the price difference I’ll pay someone that knows what to do with switch . Thanks

Hi Derek,

I’m having the same problem as discussed in this post. I have a 2008 Gem E4 I brought back to life, replacing almost everything and now I’m stuck with the throttle issue; the cart needs a new pedal (not available anywhere) or cleaning. I’m pretty handy and I ordered the Saturn part but can’t find any information on the procedure to add a switch? Is there a YouTube video or a demonstration of this?

Also is someone has a pedal available I’d be interested in replacing it too, unless you think cleaning might be helpful?

Thanks for your help

-Brian

Replacing almost everything? There must be a story here

Pedals are tricky and tough to diagnose.
What are your symptoms or how did you figure you have a pedal issue?

The cart was kept outside near the beach for a few years after the previous owners kids left to college. Everything that wasn’t aluminum had salt and water damage. I replaced the batteries, cleaned everything, replaced the controller, computer, charger, and motor with used parts from eBay. I got it running and enjoyed it for about a month before the pedal finally wound only work for a few seconds then go into limp mode and eventually not respond. Prior to that the pedal would have to be reset (unplugged and replugged) after turning the cart off for any length of time. During the month of use. So the pedal never really had a good connection.

Ok, That happens to be the exact symptom for pedal failure. Let me see if I have one in the junk box that will work for you.

Check eBay, there’s a guy in Scottsdale that sells salvaged gem parts. Also, email elcon in Sacramento. They might be able to rebuild or replace it. Also call gemcarparts direct.

I believe @Inwo or @Old_Houseboater were selling retrofit pedals or wiring adapters. Not sure if they still are though
