2005 GEM ES LCD cloudy

GEM 2005 ES LCD display cloudy. Can the display be polished or replaced? Is there a cover glass over the LCD? The display works correctly just hard to see.

I also had a 2005 GEM and on my unit, the cloudy part was on the inside, so no way to polish it without taking it all apart. Mine was a piece of glass which I cracked when removing. I posted details here:

@AssyRequired Thanks for the reply and the suggestions. Here’s what I did: I flipped on the master breaker. Ignition is off. Faint beep started. I disconnected one of the wires going to the e-brake switch. Faint beep got even fainter. I’d say sound was reduced by 50%, but it was still audible. I then disconnected the second wire. The beeping stopped. Note that the first wire is still disconnected, so the e-brake switch is completely removed at this point. I touch one of the wires back to th…

I was able to replace it for about $8 and a bit of legwork.
