2002 Gem car randomly lost power while driving

Hello all,

My 2002 gem car has been doing great up until this afternoon. While traveling about 20mph, the Gem car e825 spontaneously died with no power to dash. There is no change in the dash with key on or off. However, if I cycle the master safety switch off and back on, the dash will display the mileage then turn back off. If the key is on and I lower the ebrake, the buzzer will sound. There is no sound from the contactor. I have 78v to the + and - terminals of the controller. I noticed that the 2 small terminals on the contactor have no voltage. Any ideas what might have happened and what to check next?

I traced the power all the way back to the ignition switch and that’s where my power loss was. I have full power bypassing the ignition switch.

Do you have a large keyring?

Those medico locks tend go out eventually if you have lit of weight hanging on them.

Which is ironic, since they can be set to on, and then have the key removed so there is no weight going jingle-jingle-jingle-dingleberry on the lock

Any 2 position key switch will work. NAPA auto has one for like $13 that direct fits
