Hi all… I have a 2001 e4 and the headlights haven’t worked for a while. The fuse is fine, and I just replaced the switch. That didn’t help. Does anyone know where another failure point might be? The taillights don’t work either…

Have you verified that the bulbs are working? Test for 12v at the headlight wires. Also check the Grounds. It takes both to make a 12v accessory work.
If no power at headlight, Follow the headlight harness down to around the hood hinge area and you will find a white molex plug. Make sure that connection is good and you have 12v power at that point. Since this connector is not water tight it is one of the first connectors to have issues, heat up and melt.
There is also the same connector back in the rear battery compartment. It’s location above the batteries exposes this connector to gasses not very compatible with wiring.
