I have an old (probably 1920’s) Jack and Heintz 261-11e 1/6 hp motor 115 v
The Electrical pigtail was accidentally pulled off. Now I have three unmarked electrical posts to fasten the new pigtail to. How do I tell which is the ground and which are the hot posts? I have a multi meter. Is it sufficient to check which post is continuous to the case and assume that it is the ground and the other two are hot?
