Should I leave the cart plugged in over the winter while we are gone or use power disconnect switch and remove some battery cables? Cart stored inside attached insulated but unheated garage , Gel batteries, storage time 5-6 months.
I have a 2012 GEM with gel batteries and I have it plugged in all the time. The first set of batteries lasted 6 years and I just replaced them with new gel batteries ($1600). The no maintenance requirements for the gel is worth the extra cost because my cart sits for weeks at a time ,unused , but charging.
what year ? prior to 2005 the charger will NOT restart and keep your pack charged unless you have it modified . 2005 + uses a Deltaq , good charger . just plug it in and it will work fine
