Critics of Tesla will say that the company has had it too easy for too long with an array of potential challengers coming out of the woodwork - prompting the company to push on. Not only is Tesla set to launch another luxury vehicle but in 2017 the company will launch a mass-market affordable electric car.
Those who have criticised the company may well regret it as Elon Musk and his counterparts certainly rise to the challenge.
