There is talk in countries such as the UK of introducing an exemption from various toll charges and parking restrictions for those who drive electric vehicles. This has opened up a very interesting debate as to whether this is a good use of public money or indeed a step too far?
Do you think electric cars should be exempt from road tolls, bridge tolls and potentially be allowed to park in restricted areas?
How about keeping tolls & parking the same and provide charging stations in the parking lots. The benefit of being able to charge up while parked makes up for tolls and such.
I think there are many different ways in which governments around the world can invest into the electric car industry and help to create a vibrant charging network. It may be better for governments to maintain tax and toll payments but possibly keep these separate from traditional taxes and invest directly back into the industry?
