2005 and early 2006 do not have an interlock to prevent driving with the Parking brake engaged. This was corrected mid 2006.
Unless your brake adjustment is tight you can drive with the parking brake engaged. I did and I measured 189 degrees.
The $20 fix.
1 Add a 2nd switch next to the one existing.
2 Cut the number 1 wire on the 23 pin plug and wire the new switch in series.
