Is it possible to create a EV that can tow a 1000 pound trailer. I would be using NiMH batteries. i am not sure what motor i would use (AC or DC) but it would be about a 30 hp motor.
I need ideas if i am just out of my mind or if it is possible
also what kind of motor i should use AC or DC.
I’m sure you could but it would limit your range considerably. Why not build an electric trailer with it’s own batteries and motor and connect it in parallel with your electric car controller?
I saw something on a guy who had a trailer with a differential and electric motor but the truck had the batteries! The trailer was used as either a means of propultion or to create a hybrid drive of sorts.
