I am a new 2002 Ford Think owner. It is a 4 seater and in good appearance. I received it knowing the batteries need replacement. I have done some research on the web but want to make sure I am making a well-informed decision. Do I stick with the gel batteries? Are lithium iron phosphate an option? Any advice for a newbie is greatly appreciated.
Yes, lithium iron phosphate are great. Cost is double that of junkyard hybrid batteries though. Even more than gels. EV batteries is what members have been doing for there Gems. I drive about 12 miles with 4kwh Chevy Volt. Maximum range may be 16 miles.
What kind of mileage do you require?
Most postings state the Ford Think can get aprox 30 miles on one charge.
Again …newbie here. If I go with the EV batteries do you recommend Gel over “dry cell” batteries. I would also appreciate a manufacture recommendation for both the EV and the lithium iron phosphate.
