Basically Sucks
A bunch of emoticons is not a Logo. If you cant do better than the present Logo stay with it.
It might be better to stay with the original to provide continuity

Thank you for the feedback on the logo. I am forwarding these comments to the graphic designer.
If you are able, feel free to submit examples of what you would like to see in a logo.
The more specific the better. For example, if there is a certain icon that should be added or dropped, let us know which one.
The current logo (above) is basically text, with a power cord, both of which are present in the new logo. How would you provide “continuity”, specifically?

The old logo “Text with a power cord” is a stylized graphic, not plain text. Which one catches your eye?
