Mahindra-REVA, one of the better-known electric car manufacturers, is currently awaiting clearance from the Indian government with regards to possible subsidies for electric vehicles before launching the new REVA E20. A number of subsidies have been under threat of late although Mahindra-REVA is confident that the government will reinstate some of the financial incentives previously available.
The REVA E20 electric car is perfect for urban travel and looks like being a success when launched later in 2013. We will cover the vehicle in more detail in the days ahead and also follow up on the potential financial incentives which could be available to Indian electric car drivers. When you bear in mind this is potentially one of the largest markets in the world, the government needs to get its environment policy right.
