Here is one I haven’t flagged yet.
Wouldn’t take much of a push for me to build this.
You could beta test it for me.
Might be a nice acc. to permanently install a tach.
Only reason I post, more than do, is health issues. I have the time, but not much motivation.
ps.
Good news,
Tomberlin uses same tach connections.
I will be able to test my external tachometer on my car.
Almost ready for prime time.
Only issue right now, power to tach on my Tomberlin is on all the time. So tach will be a few ma drain on battery all the time.
I’ll check my Gem when (if) it gets here. May be different.
Other than that it’s plug and play.
Making the harness is a pretty big job, and not really needed.
I could lend it out after I verify Gem is the same wiring.
It is kind of neat to have a tach in the car.
Could easily be reprogrammed for speedometer.
Don’t be so lazy:) put a switch on it and do both.
Can we just splice this into the existing Tach lead out of the motor with tap
crimp connectors?
This is interesting
How about starting a new thread?
Yes, that would save an hours work for me.
I’m nothing if not lazy.
I’m not 100% sure it will work in all cases. fsip assured me the 12v tach supply could supply another 100ma. This is only 30ma.
So three connections. 12v-neg-signal. 12v is from the 72v controller so there is no grd as such.
Swich may not be needed on Gem. Can you check for 12v, at motor tach connection for me?
I’m Gemless.

What should I call it to get some attention?
Tach and Speedo combo
You have a PM

Don’t forget - if you do speedo you have to know tire diameter - this might complicate things, May be be better to stick with RPM only
