I have a 2000 gem with a “flat” glove box door in the dash. I would like to find some way to have the lid “spring open” when I unlock it. I have in mind something along the line of a mouse trap spring, but wouldn’t need it to be that strong. Have any of you ever tried (or even thought about) something like this? It would be nice if I wouldn’t have to hold the lid open with one hand and dig around with the other while driving.
I saw a guys “boat glove box” that had a Long thin spring. The spring you would bend it 1/2 and it would allow the spring to collapse and glove box close. You would pull up on the glove box and the spring would then stand up and lock the glove box in the up position it was a simple but effective and cheep solution
