If you havent slapped it back yogether, can you clean the teeth off and take some better pictures of them? Something doesnt look quite right but its hard to say.
Upon further examination, it was just some plastic chunks that were outside of the differential sitting on the body so it could’ve been some stuff flung up from the road. False alarm!
And dont over grease the shaft and collet. Grease is basically incompressible. It’ll hydraulic the stator in the motor back into the bearing and the bearing and magnet the same way two shaft bumpers would or a shaft bumper and a dime if youre going old school
It’s absolutely slapped back together. They were just a little rusty, and there was a rust impression from the old rubber boot that I cleaned off. They really don’t look gnashed or gnarled or mooched or whatever word you want to use, driving it after replacing that little rubber thing Cleared up so much sound,
Ok. Good to hear.
I wasnt sure if they were a little lopsided. If that were the case, it would be best to replace the input shaft
Not sure if this kind of play is normal, but I could rotate the spindle on the differential, perhaps 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in either direction before it stops and begins to turn the axle?
OMG. That’s bad. It could grenade on you.
With the hills in SF, you may die. In a golf cart. Is that how you want to be remembered? Here lies GemBo died in Haight in a golf cart. Amen.
Nah, thats normal. Itll be fine. I’m talking about the input shaft to motor teeth.
ha ha ha ha.. You are sooooo bad..
Hahaha I appreciated your lightheartedness. I’m actually an hour south in the “flat lands” doing trips to school and local potato vodka market
I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.
