Yes I’ve installed a 24s sdi with jk BMS in his car

@Oldschoola I have some of the small screens,.

Need to see if I have a big one left.

Or you can mount a tablet

The box comes from Hudson Exchange. A matching lid is available. Both listed on ebay.com currently.

Answer: They got no BOTty to program them right …

I just bought a 2002 GEM e825 4 seater. I was thinking of getting 2 48v lithium batteries from a Chevy Volt, using an MM with spoof, and getting the algorithm to reprogram my delta-q charger. 96v. Would this work? Any advice?

Voltage is too high. 88 v is good. 96 will be nothing but problems if it runs at all

Right- Several projects in this group have decided that higher than 88-89v is about the limit of the T1/T2.

Some have gone higher, but it is a 50/50 dice roll that the controller blows up. If you win, the gains are not very high.

Everything else starts getting sketchy. Main Contactor, DC Converter (hopefully your car has the update), and what charger are you planning on using?

There is an option to do a 24v and a 48v from the Chevy Volt which would be 72v. No voltage gain, but no problems?

Right, That seems a little low to be useful. It’s been a while since I have looked at the volt cells, but if you build a battery that doesn’t fit the operating range of the Gem, What is the point?

It would be like running around with a worn out set of LA batteries.

Volt uses 44v and 22v modules. Most common. 12s and 6s.
18s is too low to work properly.
I suggest 24s tapped back one or two. Easy to do.

I would appreciate any advice. I am brand new to this and reading everything I can.

What else can I say. 18s battery will not work properly in a Gem.
They are very old used cells degraded to 40ah.
If you get 4pcs. Connect 2p and tapped at 22s or 23s, will work great.
It’s not easy to connect bms to parallel batteries, but I may have a few parallel “volt” harness left over from when I used them.

I found a guy in Jacksonville, FL who has 2 12 cell packs, so 24 total. Each cell is 3.3v -4.2v $400 total.

24s can be spoofed to work in 2005+.
Best to tap at 22s or 23s imo.

Can 2 be removed fairly easily?

Yes and no. Not easy to remove cells, but easy to connect to 22 or 23, leaving extra cells unused.

Good. I will make arrangements to get the cells. I would love your input and advice, instruction, in setting it up.

That’s about as far as I go. Maybe the seller can offer more advice.

Are you sure? Did you not see the part where these appear to be worn out and only 40Ah?

The range on this car is going to be minimal.

It is very limited with 40ah. At least two sets required for decent range. Then he might as well get a proper voltage battery.
