Thank you for the remote suggestion, that is a great solution instead of paying $141 for a replacement! I will order a set, and the gem will feel like a modern high tech car. I assume that I can install it in the line going from the key to the charger after bypassing the key switch. Only question I have is that I assume it will require the negative connection in order to work (or just the hot lead?) and I am not sure where I will access that connection. But I am sure I will figure it out.
This forum and its members are so greatly appreciated.
That must be the price on the Medco keyswitch. Totally overkill to have an angle cross cut security key only the lock manufacturer can duplicate on a hopped up golf cart. Those went away in 2005. The only real advantage the Medcos had was once you moved it into position you could pull the key out as big heavy dangly keyrings bouncing down the road in a GEM starts breaking the plastic it’s mounted into eventually.
Either of these work just fine as replacements:
Thanks JarJar
Think I’ll go high tech electronic!
