GEM eLXD 520518: 5 error

Hello. I’m new to the forum and working on a Gem eLXD. I’ve searched around and can’t seem to find the “Veh Fault” code I’m experiencing anywhere.

It’s 520518: 5. Best I can find is it may have to do with the main circuit or even the Trombetta solenoid. It seems to have an arc and slight melt but does click when the ignition is turned.

Pushing the handbrake starts the “Whirrrr” but no forward or reverse and there is no physical microswitch for the accelerator. If I keep the ignition on, the Main solenoid clicks every few minutes without pressing the pedal.

Other troubleshooting I’ve done include, battery test, checked fuses and Connectors, disconnected secondary battery (behind dash) and fuse for an extended period and Reconnected.

Any thoughts?

Ohm out contactor coil.
If it clicks in, measure voltage across contacts. Before and after click.

Thank you. Luckily it was the solenoid. Seems to work now but do wonder what caused it to fail.

Probably made in China…

I actually had something similar happen and it turned out to be the switch for the parking brake was setting it off and on.

Yes. We’ve had that in other vehicles.
