GEM 2002 e4 825; purchased new GEM-rated batteries in NOV 2011; had charger calibrated to new batteries. Charging cycle completes and shows 100%. After a short run of one miles, charge drops to <60%; shortly thereafter, code 15: car shuts down. I wait approx. 5 mins and I have enough power to return home. Thoughts or direction appreciated.
the code 15… voltage low low power charge batteries… my first thought is you have a battery that is not charging fully… thus pulling the pack down… have you charged the car fully and checked the voltage of each battery… have you checked the water in the batteries if they can be checked… if you have a battery that is not charging equally with the others… that is your problem… I think…

Sounds like one or more of your batteries has an issue. When did you notice the change? Battery type? Have you checked the voltage of each battery an hour after a full charge? Also check the voltage of the pack as a whole.

You could be correct here. I purchased six new, mataching batteries. in Aug 2012, one batteries literally blew up; replaced with matching battery. In DEC 2012, one battery was “dead”; replaced that one. I realize all batteries should be replaced at the same time, but the base set is less than two years old. I have check the voltage before and after charging; all approximately 1 volt of eachother. Thanks

beside the individual battery … check the pack voltage
