I’ve been following the trunk latch repair post and thought I’d share my way of solving my trunk latch issues. I’m driving offroad alot and broke my latch mechanism. After buying a new lock assembly I decided to “think outside the box” and make it so my lock was not the main holding point for my trunk lid. I found my stainless/rubber trunk latches on Amazon and the price for 4 was better than 2 and I can use the xtra 2 for another project. I’m very happy with this solution. My trunk lid no longer “rattles” and after 6 months my locking mechanism has no issues.
