error code 65 gem 2 2006

is there a possibility that it is not the controller and it is the computer that has the fuses on it? I make an assumption

Nope. It is the Motor controller that controls the MC. It is sensing there is too much current going through the coil when told to close(it thinks the coil is shorted). Since you removed the coil wires(the small ones) and it is still reporting a shorted coil (which is now removed from the system) the issue must be an error in the controller.

The other box is the PSDM and it’s functions are not part of this error.

thank you very much!!

It sounds like you have another car to swap parts to/from?
If it is the same era controller try doing that.

I have found that these things are like a computer. Turn the main breaker “disconnect” off and back on and see if that clears it up. I have had a few issues in the past and that cleared it.
