I think I burnt out my ANT BMS. It kind of smells like a burnt plastic and beeps nonstop until I unplug it. BMS app lists CHGMosErr. This is the 2016 E4 that @Erniea15 converted to high voltage with a @Inwo tesla pack. Any recommendations on a replacement BMS? Easy to do on my own or will I need one of my local San Diego experts assistance?
I think i remember this car. Does this car also have one of those 8kwAC motor kits ?
Are you sure it is a 2016? (It might be a transition car).
I think I have one of those ANT BMS on my “Bought it and never did anything with it” shelf.
@smspring I totally dropped the ball on balancing that cell a while ago… guessing you solved that. I’m spinning too many plates.
I think I have a spare ANT in my garage too… If I can find it. Let me dig around.
The swap should be easy. Just grab a snapshot of all the settings.
Sounds like someone’s safeword.
Or maybe its the name of a new city on Tatoine in Star Wars.
@Erniea15 had an extra in his garage, thank you. What do I need to know before I install this?
It’s been a while since I’ve installed an ANT. Off the top of my head, turn off charge and discharge in the bms app.
i just noticed the andersen plug on the B- side. Looks like the guys made this easy to remove later. Disconnect that first. That should kill the power to everything and safe to work with.
Disconnect the wire going to B+ on the battery (it will be one of the smaller ones in the balance harness… looking at the picture, i think there’s a barrel connector), unplug the balance lead harness starting from the high side, then disconnect the blue and black wires on the bms.
Then just reverse the process. You’ll have to restore all your settings manually.
@AssyRequired does that sounds right to you? I think you were the last to mess with the pack after making some design upgrades when we learned from mine getting wet.
