2000 e2 emergency brake issue

I have a 2000 e2. The emergency brake handle will no longer stay up when you pull it. Upon further inspection I noticed that little piece of metal that engages in the teeth would not hold on it’s on. If I push it into the teeth with my finger it holds fine. I guessing it is spring activated and spring is bad. Can I buy just the spring or does the whole emergency brake handle need to be replace?

Be sure a good dose of lube doesn’t fix it before you tear into it. :slight_smile:
