Will family saloons ever be the same again?

For many years now the electric vehicle market has been focused upon “general vehicles” as opposed to the likes of family saloons which have been left behind in the search for new technology. However, as a means of bulking up its electric car portfolio, French operation Renault has recently released the Renault Fluence ZE into the marketplace.

The Renault Fluence ZE electric vehicle is a family saloon which offers all of the efficiencies, improved driving experience and reduce running costs associated with a general more mass-market electric car. This is to all intents and purposes the shape of the future family saloon vehicle - now, who will fight back and try to take over Renault’s position in this particular area?
