Renault and Nissan top 100,000 electric vehicles

In a market which many people thought was dead in the water, Renault and Japanese partner Nissan have confirmed joint sales of over 100,000 electric vehicles. This landmark was greeted by a very upbeat statement from Carlos Ghosn, the chief executive of both operations, who suggested that the short to medium-term outlook for the European automobile market is difficult but the move towards hybrid and electric vehicles is “not a bet, it is a certainty”.

This is the kind of upbeat comments which have helped propel the electric vehicle market to its current status with more good news expected in the short term.
