Recommendations requested: Front or rear wheel drive E-Bike

Hi,

I’m a newby. I am interested in doing and electric bike conversion with my 14year old grandson. I have lots of questions, but I’ll start with this one.

Which would be better for my 14 year old grandson - rear wheel or front wheel drive - for an e-bike conversion?

I have front wheel brush less hub. 500w, 36v. I feel a rear hub with regenerative braking would be safest.

Front wheel or rear wheel … that doesnt make difference atleast in driver point of view
