RS_E6, Thanks for the info. How many cells did you go with?
28 currently, debating if I should add a 29th. Main issue I have is I have a couple cells that charge faster than the rest which shuts down my charger so it takes a while to get all the cells topped up.
Do you have balance boards on them?
I have the balance boards and the 32s BMS unfortunately neither can pull enough amps to hold them down.
Roman , which charger profile are you running ?
Sum tin wong.
Keep draining the high ones until they are in step. Were they ever balanced.
If they are bottom balanced, being different on the top doesnât matter. When the first is full youâre done. More charging wonât give more pack capacity.
If top balanced they should stay that way on the top.
The bms may be fighting you.
Would be nice to know how many miles you are getting on a full charge at 35m/hr With 25s and 28s I am about ready to covert some more input would help in the decision or do I need to double up and do 50s
Are you one of the guys that steered this guy wrong which cost him dearly. He says you participated in the advice given to him which was wrong. Maybe you guys should stick with your day jobs. Good thing I dont do this at TESLA. I see your name written all over his comments below.
How do I make sure we donât go past the 3.0 V per cell minimum? I just want to get all our ducks in a row through you versus relying on these online lithium junkies who steered me the wrong way.
I could show you so many emails that told me to hook these up in series to get the 86VâŚafter running off the top 12 V with my lights on. They also are recommending a âspoof wireâ to fool my controller in allowing 11 extra volts over the default of 86V
Your advise continues to be wrong, I sell 21s 4.2v chevy batteries NEW not from junk yard like you.
I have used these green LiFePO4 cells on two different early GEMs from @Inwo and have had nothing but great results. Itâs a DIY experience to install and balance, not understanding your beef with their (free) advice?
Dave,
I reached out to you in email, but not sure if you still use that, so to be safe thought I would reach out here as well.
Bought a set of Lifepos, balance boards, controller etc from you about 2 years ago for me GEM and it has been running like a dream. About a month ago it locked up showing error â16â. My mechanic has been looking at it and says it is all great until battery voltage goes above 86, then it locks up.
Makers me think that maybe the spoof has gone bad / is not working right, so was wondering if it would be possible to buy 1 or 2 of them from you so I can trouble shoot more on this end?
Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated.
