GM invests 200M in Pontiac and Orion (MI) plants, no new jobs :(

Chicago. General Motors will invest 200 million dollars in the production of the new generation of its electric model, which is based on the Bolt concept car. GM North America President Alan Batey made the announcement at a breakfast ahead of the Chicago Auto Show. The Bolt EV concept was introduced in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Of the total investment in the project, some 160 million dollar will go to GMs plant in Orion (Michigan), where the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano are produced, while another $ 40 million will be invested in the place where its former Pontiac Assembly Center used to be.Read Full article here
