GEM E4 Batteries show charged but car slowly dies after 100 yard

Just got the call from FSIP and my throttle controller checked out fine so now I guess it could be controller or motor? At a loss of what to do next, Don’t have the tools or knowledge to feel confident checking myself. FSIP can check the motor controller for $90 guess that is my next move. Still following your progress.

Cheryll13,

How much did they charge you to test your Throttle control (Accel Pedal)? I can’t find one for sale so could they also repair it if it was damaged? Thanks.

Tim

Charged $100 and will quote a price if it could be repaired.

RESOLVED! Found someone else with a broken GEM through Nextdoor.com. Took my pedal assembly to her car as she was having the same problem but getting error code 11 on a 2005 E4. I read and cleared her codes on her controller and then we cleaned her connections got hers running after it had been sitting for 10 months. My pedal did not work on her car so we took a dremmel and ground off the rivots to open it up (See pics). The servo components were definitely gopped up. Cleaned it with electronics cleaner and Q-tips. After a couple of cleans it kept getting the speedometer up to higher and higher MPH. Topped out at 17 mph on her car but when I got home to mine I am getting 25MPH.

I want to thank INWO and Old Houseboater for all their help. INWO - if this pedal goes again and I need a new one I will reach out and send you my old one when that happens. Thanks, again.

Just in case this helps someone in the future, it was indeed the throttle assembly.
