While the question “Did global warming have an impact upon electric car sales?” may seem something of a bizarre question, the reality is that many governments around the world introduced financial incentives for the electric vehicle market purely and simply because of global warming. If, as some experts believe, global warming turns out to be a non-event and the environment reverts to a more stable position, have we been duped?
There have been numerous environmental meetings between governments around the world, there have been strongly worded policies to improve the environment and many of these have seen the electric vehicle market become the focal point. It will be interesting to see whether a reduction in global warming, if as expected by some experts this does happen, leads to less enthusiasm for electric vehicles.
