Controller swap 2016+ part trois

Giving this another go.

Another teaser maybe.
A S4 48v straight clone of EM-1400 runs great as it is with my 6.5 kw motor.
Em-140 uses 5kw motor.
Dual throttle and all settings are stock. Runs 20mph. Changing drive profile to 9500rpm and extending slip map from 6k to 9k yields 35mph.
Oem mild performance, and I assume economy, which is my goal.

Next step, try to add the 6.5kw motor parameters. Not as easy as it seems.
The 6.5kw motor parameters are from a different dld. 2018 EL-HD,
The EM-140 will not accept them without fatal errors.
I believe that it’s mostly the slip maps that are not compatible.

Intended solution is to print the “motor” partial dcf from the 2018. Only move the compatible data locations to my EM-1400 clone.

You are getting deeeeep.

True that. This is nearest I’ve been to a successful controller swap.
If it turns out bullet proof, I can start working on a s4 80v option. Even if it will only work at 60v, I’m good with it.
A s4 48v cost me as much as a s6 80v.
I can cut the cost in half by using an 80v s4.
I can see big demand for a 35mph upgrade that does not require major new parts other than the controller.

Still a few minor bugs, but time to look for someone willing to test a new controller.
At this time, for a reasonable chance of success, a 6.5kw motor. 48v lead batteries in good condition.
I will send new controller and harness to test.
Reversible by unplugging harness.
May not need a deposit from well known members.
It will be a huge help if it’s someone near a Sevcon DVT user.

Finally got around to moving the pdo from oem to the new controller.
Still no speedometer function. I had high hopes of it being that simple.
Any ideas?

Ecm is still sending data to cluster.
Velocity data should now be going to ecm from sevcon.
What check would polaris have used to inhibit speedometer? And why?
Controller/ecm errors? I have those.
Heartbeat error? I seem to have a problem with that, as controller will shut down if not hot wired.

A forum member is buying a 2017. Maybe he will lend me his controller to copy.

So far running great. Need a member with a 6.5kw motor to test new controller.
In a pinch I can put a 5kw on mine. Not excited about it though.
@grantwest , you had something in mind at one time.

Progress. Gabe is helping me with a simple, I hope, controller swap.
Should soon have a second and third opinion on performance.
48v lead batteries and original 6.5kw motor.
