Can a GEM elXD be a carpenter's work truck?

Well, i did it. I traded in my Chevy Colorado for a 2011 GEM eLXD, Max Box, 2019 motor, and a new set of nine 8-volt AGMs. Yesterday was my first day using it. Chock full of tools it got only 12 miles before hitting yellow. I’m hoping that the manual is correct in that it takes 20-30 charges to get the full range on a new set of batteries. I’m feeling a bit like i may have lost my mind, so wish me luck.

Lots of room in those for big batteries.

Do you have room for a portable generator?
Just until you figure this out, and your car doesn’t leave you stranded.

Make sure your charger is set to the proper profile for those batteries.

Since he already made the investment, I wonder if he can find room for one or two more?

A little portable generator is an interesting idea. I have space for it, but i’m not sure i want to add the weight just for emergencies.

If i want to extend my range a bit, would the simplest way be to just add more of the same batteries?

@JarJarJava, how do i make sure the charger is set to the proper profile?

The other day, i hauled over 1,400 pounds of concrete a mile and a half in the back of my 2011 eLXD. It didn’t break. It didn’t even complain. I just wanted this to be written on the internet somewhere.
